Resolve MFA and sign-in issues safely

Collect the minimum useful detail about a sign-in problem, then use the approved recovery or support path without exposing passwords, codes, or recovery material.

Intended audience

  • Admin
  • HR
  • Manager
  • Employee
  • SuperAdmin

Where to find it

Use the FriendHRM sign-in page, then the approved support or security route.

Before you start

  • Recovery options depend on tenant and platform policy. Support can help diagnose the path but must not receive active credentials or one-time codes.

Steps

  1. 1

    Describe the visible problem

Record the organization identifier, account email, approximate time, page or step, and non-sensitive error message without capturing passwords or codes.

  2. 2

    Retry the approved flow once

Confirm device time for authenticator codes, use a newly generated code, and follow the product’s recovery option when it is available.

  3. 3

    Escalate through the right owner

Contact the tenant Admin, HR, security owner, or SuperAdmin based on the account type and policy; include the safe diagnostic details you collected.

Expected result

The issue is diagnosed through a legitimate recovery path without disclosing credentials or creating an unapproved alternate account.

These destinations are verified against the current product navigation or route record. They remain subject to sign-in, feature, tenant, role, and data-scope checks.

Common problems

I no longer have the device that generated MFA codes.

Use an approved recovery code if you have one, or contact the assigned security owner for the documented recovery procedure. Do not repeatedly guess codes.
